History of the Tibetan mastiff dog

The ancestors of this breed are Tibetan dogs, such as mastiffs and molluscs. The ancient Tibetan mastiff dates back to 1100 BC. Later, these mastiffs became the Tibetans of today, after years of isolation in the Tibetan Himalayas. This breed was used to guard the territories. Sometimes a dog alone took care of a village! The shepherds were responsible for guarding the family when the shepherds were raising the herds. These dogs continued to write in Tibet until a colt was donated to Queen Victoria in 1800. The British began to record the standards and nurture this race. Marcopoulos has described the breed as “a dog with the height of an ass with the sound of a lion’s strength”. Tibet Mustafi was brought to the United States from India, Nepal and Afghanistan in 1970. Today, this race is scarce in Tibet, while its population is growing in England and the United States. The Tibetan Mastiff Association began operating in the United States in 1974 and was first registered with the AKC in 2006. It is known as the herd dog and the home guard.

Tibetan mastiff mood

The Tibetan Mastiff is a brave, fearless, calm, thoughtful race. Very loyal to her family. If he is out at night, he barks, but he will not do it indoors. It is an ideal shepherd and guard dog. He is extremely savage in the face of wolves, leopards, and any predatory animal that threatens his flock. It takes a willing, confident owner to figure out who the boss is and prevent him from becoming a self-righteous, offensive dog. This breed is willing to please its owner. Has kind relations with children. But if not properly socialized from birth, it can be a great danger to strangers. Instinctively, they become the guardian and guardian of the family and their territory. If he is trained from birth, he will treat other animals well, and if his owner realizes that war is not what he wants, he can have a well-controlled relationship with other dogs. If the Tibetan mastiff thinks he has more power and decision than his owner will never obey. When we humans live with dogs, we become herds or groups, and this group only needs a leader and an alpha. The boundaries are clearly palpable and the rules are in place. This is what should be the whole queen of your Tibetan mastiff mind. If you do not want to face the roar and even the attack and the gas in the future. You and every other human being should be higher than the dog and the dog should know that you are the decision maker, not them! This is the only way to have a successful relationship with the dog. This breed would become the ideal companion dog if it knew its alpha well, socialized, trained and had sufficient physical activity. The Tibetan mastiff needs an experienced owner.
